I have a VPS and anyone can send email by specifying mail.yourdomain.com as smtp client host from anywhere even from the local machine.

I want to secure it so that no one can send email except me from my VPS. I tried the way given on the softsyshosting website and even if I am sepcifying the network credential anyone is able to send email.

I tried to specify the Authentication Settings using IIS and despite that anyone is able to send email.

Any help?

Hello

This could most generally be port issue only. I'll recommend you to disable Windows firewall and then try and see how it works.

I was doing some testing to make sure all my Website Panel was working correctly and was creating some bogus domains.  I changed my network settings to look at my server only for DNS lookups.  I didn't write down the default IPs before I hit ok.  Can someone please provide me with the default DNS servers in their VPS network settings so that I can add them back?

Thanks a bunch,
WaltDjr

Hello,

I have a VPS server setup with SmarterMail 6.9 installed.  I can send and receive emails via the webmail but I have tried to get POP and IMAP to work with my email client and both fail to connect.

I have tried to telnet to my server on ports 110 and 143 but connection fails.

I believe I have the ports open in the windows firewall on the server which is running windows 2008.

Anyone know what I am missing?

If you are using Windows XP in your computer, follow this HP installation guide:

http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/docum

WinXP does not have the model listed in its available drivers in its installer, so you either use the CD provided with the printer or download a driver from the HP website.

Is this for a VPS? If so, it is not possible to attach a local without huge amount of configuration changes. You can view one of the discussion thread at: http://www.aspdeveloper.net/Virtual_PC/rn-739-56236_Cant_install_printer.aspx
